TM CORSE – CRD MOTORSPORT
ITALIAN PRO PRESTIGE ROUND #2 MANTOVA
A TWO-SIDED SUNDAY
Mantua, 29/30 March 2025 – The second stage of the Italian Pro Prestige took place on the Mantua track in a weekend with rain on Saturday and sun on Sunday. In the race in the MX2 both Julius Mikula riding the TM MX 250 FI and Niccolò Mannini with 125.
The Saturday dedicated to qualifications saw Julius end with the 2nd time of his group while for Niccolo the 14th, both therefore widely qualified for Sunday heats.
Sunday the first heat saw a not easy start for both. Julius managed to make his way into a few laps and from the middle of the race onwards he settled in 4th position and then satisfied since the first three had taken a large advantage. Niccolò with his small 125 gave a show by ringing several overtaking and going up to the 18th final position.
The second heat saw Julius again leaving in the ten but forced him to push immediately so as not to lose the train of the best. This time he managed to hook the first by taking third place, but while at the attack of the second position a small mechanical trouble forced him to retire during the last lap. Niccolò immediately had to reassemble from behind but during the first lap a fall forced him to stop in order not to risk unnecessarily. Fortunately only bruises and no physical consequences for him.
After the second test of this championship Julius is in 4th position in the Elite MX2 ranking, Niccolò in 18 °.
In the next weekend, the team will move to Sardinian land, precisely in Riola Sardo, to face the Sardinia GP. It will be the fourth trial of World Cup for Julius and the third of European EMX125 for Niccolò who will have to defend the red table of championship leaders.
Julius Mikula: “On Saturday we had variable weather conditions with slight showers, but nothing too dramatic. I participated in the qualifications session, where I closed in 2nd place of my group. On Sunday the weather was beautiful and the track was in ideal conditions to run. In the first heat I did not have an ideal departure, but I managed to conclude in 4th place. Even in the race two I had to reassemble, even if the first three pilots had a nice advantage I managed to reach them. Three laps from the end, I was again fighting for the podium, exceeding the opponent for 3rd place. I was still hoping for a chance to arrive 2nd, but unfortunately, in the middle of the last lap I was forced to withdraw for technical problems. Even if I was unable to conclude the race as I wanted, I am satisfied with my performance and the speed I showed. This race gave me precious experiences and I can’t wait to face the next challenges. The next race will be the Riola Sardo MXGP. I would like to thank the whole team and all the people who support me. “.
Niccolò Mannini: “An all in all a positive weekend. It had to be only a good training in view of Sardinia and so it was. After a Saturday with a 14th group time in qualifying on Sunday I had a lot of fun in the race one to battle with the largest 250. I made several overtaking even if it was not easy and I finished in 18th place. In the second heat the fall on the first lap made me go back to the pits for a garage. risking since the most important race is that of next weekend.
