INTERNAZIONALI D’ITALIA MX 2025 – RD #1 – MANTOVA
February 13, 2025
The 2025 season for TM MX kicked off with the first round of the Internazionali d’Italia Motocross at the Tazio Nuvolari in Mantua, a prestigious pre-season championship featuring world class riders.
Confirmed for the 2025 season were Luca Rosati on the TM 250 FI in the MX2 class and Gennaro Utech on the TM 125 MX in the 125cc category.
The rain, which continued to fall throughout the weekend, turned the track into a hell of potholes and deep channels, making it treacherous.
Unfortunately for Gennaro Utech, the weekend was all downhill: weakened by the fever and flu that had been plaguing him for several days, he decided with great determination to give it a go and lined up for qualifying on Sunday morning.
With just 3 laps under his belt, he managed to finish 6th in his group, demonstrating speed and concreteness, but the deterioration in his health forced him to end his first weekend of racing prematurely.
Health conditions that are fortunately improving, with the hope of seeing him back in full form at Montevarchi!
The complicated track conditions also took their toll on the second rider to start the race. In the qualifying session on Sunday morning, Luca Rosati managed to get back into the top 40 with the 18th fastest time.
After starting the first race from the back of the grid, Rosati completed the first lap in 24th position, but small mistakes during the race caused him to lose a few positions and he finished the race in 29th position.
A difficult start to the second race saw Luca start from the back of the grid, but without losing heart he began his comeback with an ever-increasing pace to finish the second race in 24th position.
Luca Rosati:
The first race of the season has been archived, a very difficult situation in the rain, but I’m happy with the feeling I had during the day, let’s keep working!
Gennaro Utech:
The feeling was not the best because I did not feel 100% but still I gave the maximum for my condition at that time, I decided not to participate in the races to not stress my body too much, at the moment I still have a little ‘fever but I will do everything to return to Montevarchi!
Mattia Serafini (Team Manager):
It was a very difficult weekend due to the extreme conditions, but we return from Mantua with positive feelings, knowing that we have started the season on the right foot!
Utech showed good speed, unfortunately he was only able to qualify because he had a fever of 39 degrees.
His condition is improving and we hope to see him back at 100% in Montevarchi.
As for Rosati, we are aware that the level and the conditions were very difficult, but I am happy with the way he tackled the races, especially the second race where he came up from the back with a good pace!
A very good race also for Riccardo Pini, for him the first year with our TM 125 MX and he immediately entered the top ten with a very good 8th place in race 1 and 9th place in race 2 to finish 8th overall for the day.
An immediate good feeling that bodes well for a growing season!
Now appointment for the second and last race of the Italian Internationals on 16th February in Montevarchi!
