GREAT START FOR MIKULA AND MANNINI!

Mantua, 9th February 2025 – The competitive commitments of TM Corse – CRD Motorsport started at the Tazio Nuvolari of Mantua. The first round of the Internazionali d’Italia was marked by bad weather, the rain that had been falling incessantly since Saturday evening made the track very challenging. Our two boys on their TMs, Julius Mikula on the MX2 and Niccolò Mannini on the 125, started with the timed practice on Sunday.

Julius, who had the seventh fastest time in his group, lined up at the start of the first race with the aim of making a good start. It was a pity that he was involved in a group crash in the first corner and started very late. His comeback was impressive, Julius made up a lot of positions with top five lap times and finished the race in 13th place.

In the second race everything went better from the start, he was second in the first corner, but then he lost a few positions on the first lap. After the first few laps he regained a position and held third until the last lap when he was overtaken by Lata. A fourth place at the finish line was enough to satisfy everyone. Julius finished the day in eighth place overall and looks forward to the next round at Montevarchi with great confidence.

Niccolò recorded the third fastest time in his group, which gave him a good starting position. In the first race he started in the top ten and was fifth on the first lap, then kept up the pace throughout the race, although he lost a few places in the final to finish seventh. In race two, he made a great start and was immediately in second place. In the middle of the race he fell back to fourth after a crash, but at the end of the race, also thanks to the fall of a rider in front of him, he moved up to third position and held it until the chequered flag. These results put him fifth overall for the day, and he certainly has the potential to go further in the final round at Montevarchi.

JULIUS MIKULA: ‘Mantua was challenging with the super wet track and very deep channels. In the first race I had an accident and lost time on the restart, but then I went from last to 13th. Race two went much better, I started third and held that position for 90% of the race. In the end I finished fourth and I am happy with the race we had! I can’t wait to race at Montevarchi. Thanks to the team and all the supporters.

NICCOLO MANNINI: ‘It was a very complicated Sunday because of all the rain. The track was really challenging, but in the end we go home happy. I finished third in the morning time trial, although I could have done better, and in the heats I finished seventh and third, but always with an excellent pace that bodes well for the next races. These appointments will help us to refine the feeling with the bike, which is already good, and at Montevarchi we will certainly fight for the best result. I am happy with the first race, the speed is there and we will certainly continue to work to improve. Thanks to the team and all the people who follow me”.

The appointment with the second and final round of these Internationals is on Sunday 16th February at the Miravalle circuit in Montevarchi (AR).
